People get colorful violins on the internet, is there anywhere to get colorful violas?
People in my orchestra that play the violin have gotten colorful violins i.e. black with a lime green stripe, sparkly purple, really bright, electric blue off the internet and they are shipped to them for a reasonable price and are well packaged and never damaged. Well, I've been looking for the same, only a Viola, since I play the viola, but I can't find any. Help please? Thanks

All I want to do is play the violin. Is that too much to ask?
So, when I was in 4th grade, there was this concert that was held at my school to display all of the orchestra and band instruments that kids could sign up to play if they wanted to. When they played the violin, I knew that that was what I wanted to do. I was just captivated at the music, and how beautiful it sounded. So, I signed up along with a bunch of other kids, and one week later, my orchestra teacher handed me a brand new violin. I loved it, and I practiced all the time and I was very good at it for my age. Anyhow, I moved across town and quit playing after 3 years. I thought it made sense to me then, but now I see that it was a stupid mistake and I regret it very much, because I loved playing. Now I am in 10th grade and I want to play more than ever. The orchestra at my school is wonderful, my younger sister is even in it, and plays the viola she is exceptional at it , but the so called 'budget' for buying instruments is already gone He said he already spent it on other students that had entered at the beginning of the year , and the teacher cannot afford to buy me a violin. Therefor, I am not joining the orchestra at my school. So, my 16th birthday is coming up soon and I cannot wait. It's in April, and my parents have been asking me if I know what I want for my birthday. I only want one thing. A full sized violin. More than anything in the world. But, my parents don't have the money to go out and buy a brand new 500 dollar violin, let alone rent one for me. I was wondering if there are any websites that you can direct me to that have good quality violins for around 200 or less if possible . Or any ideas that could help me get money for one. And no, please do not say a job, because I already babysit, and I only make 20 dollars every weekend. My parents would save up the money to be able to get one for me possibly. It annoys me that I see kids my age playing the violin or viola and they think it's a toy and don't practice or they quit. I would kill for one of those 600 dollar violins that they have. All I want to do is play the violin. Is that too much to ask? I can't wait anymore, I want to play so badly Any help is appreciated, thanks so much, and sorry this was so long xDSorry about that. I didn't mean to make it so long. Anyways, I've been waiting for over a year now. I've even got a violin book and I've been practicing looking over sheet music and everything, but can't play because I do not have an instrument I have called numerous pawn shops, and none seem to have violins that are in my size, or they have them but they are in very bad condition and are not worth buying.
How easy is the violin for someone like me?
I have been forever fascinated by violins, but i never had the money to even try one. So I've played a bit of piano, still do, mostly through watching and copying or by ear but since I was in choir I did learn about notes eventually. I can sort of read them, but then again I never seriously practiced. I tried the guitar for some time, really dedicated myself to it, but I could never get past tabs and simple songs. With the piano my problem is that i cannot for the life of me have one hand be going slower than the other. It just will not listen. With the guitar, I have no idea how people play it. Your fingers have to be vines or something. Its impossible to place them right quickly enough. oh and I did try drums once and was fine with those but I don't like them.I know people say the violin is hard but it just seems much easier for me with the problems I have. It's more of a one note at a time instrument, isn't it? And quite slower too. And the bow seems like a much for fluid method of making notes than hitting a piano key or picking a string.Do you think I could learn it okay, at a hobby level.... Or am I just deluding myself? And why?I'm 18, btw, if you think it matters.I didn't think it would be easier. What I meant to ask is if you think I could eventually learn it. Because with piano and guitar I reached a point were I just could not improve. When I said fluid, I didn't mean it would be easier to play with a bow, I've heard about the scratching and speaking,, but once I got better at playing notes, I feel the movement is much more fluid compared to a guitar or a piano. Like the actual motion looks less confusing to me... Less odd compared to what my other hand is doing... Although in a guitar for example I can coordinate my hands pretty well, just not place my fingers right.
Where can I find a flesch chin rest for a electric violin?
I use a middle chin rest for my acoustic violin and recently got an electric violin, but a normal flesch chin rest is too big and doesn't fit my electric violin because the electric violins are thinner than acoustic violins. Do you know where I can find a flesch chin rest that will fit the thinner body of an electric violin?
