Quick question about the violin?
I learned the violin when I was a child for a year I was about 11 years old And recently I've been thinking about taking it up again and have only now started to miss it. But I need some advice where to begin?How much should I spend on one? What brand or make should I look for? Sizes, etc?Thank you in advance x
Question about the violin?
I have a desire to play the violin, I listen to it all the time from, vivaldi, bach, and lots more. I am a trombone player at around an intermediate level. I love the sound of the strings. Fortunately, my grandmother had given me a violin, and I want to learn it. However, am 19 and I know its never to late to learn but can you guys give me advice on what to do begin embarking on my violin journey, i hope to play for an orchestra someday.

ok so i would say im a begginer at the violing not horrible but not that good either anyway i started about 2 years ago and i just started to have this trouble of hitting my A string everytime i want to play a note on my D string any help would be extrimiely apreciated lol i dont know why orchestra plays just thought that they might know doesnt really have to be them d but it caught your attention didnt it u

I have a question about the violin?
My friend lent me her violin so I could teach myself how to play. I really like it so far, but the only trouble I'm having is that it's not sounding right. It's not that it's out of tune or anything, it's just that when I draw the bow across the strings, it makes this " rusty" kind of sound. I've rosined the bow plenty of times, it's sounds a little bit better, but still not exactly what I want it to sound like. One string in particular can sound really rusty, and that's the A string. Anyone know what might be the problem? Do you think it might be something with the strings? Thanks guys And no, there's no problem with my playing. I'm doing everything as I'm supposed to. It just isn't sounding right.

A couple of questions about the violin?
First of all I read on wikipedia what it's highest note is and then Finale 2008 gave me a different answer so I'm getting a third opinion? Second are harmonics extremely hard to do in sucsession or can a good violinst play an entire melody in harmonics?I really mean with harmonics in sucsession is it possible.For clarification I don't plan on playing Violin this is solely for compositional purposes.
