Is this a bad deal for a new violin?
Okay they said they woulds give me a deal for a 4 4 violin with the bow, case, rosin, tuner, should pad. New violin brown. for 500. no tax

Is there money out there for a new violin?
My teacher is saying that my current violin is not good enough. She is recommending a new violin to the tune of $12000 and bow, but we can't afford that. Is there any Money out there to help people like me?

I've just recently bought a new violin however there are some things that are bothering me a little...?
One is there's some writing on the finger board. I'm an artist and I hate it when something is not supposed to be there. Does anyone know how to get rid of it? I've tried wiping it away with a slightly damp cloth but it's still there. Also this is my first violin of which only has a one fine tuner on the e string . When I tune it and play it afterwards the A string sounds really raspy and ive already put rosin on the bow. Also it seems that the violin goes out of tune more than my old one is using only 1 fine tuner an advantage? Because i don't see any at the moment

Do i get a new violin or do i keep the same one?
i haven't use my violin since i was in fourth grade now i am in 10th. It seems to me it still fits me but i am not sure. Do i need to buy a new one or could i still use my old one.mine is 4 4 is that full size?

I have a problem playing my new violin?
Ok so I play all kinds of instruments and just recently decided I wanted to conquer my next instrument the violin. So I bought a cheap one off ebay from a liquidation store anways I just got it today and I have a few problems I am hoping people can give me tips on1. how can I tune my violin more easily it took me nearly 1 hour to tune it today because of the bridge2. I rosined my bow but the bow isn't making any sound when I try to play.I know these questions may sound dumb but the closest instrument to this that I've learned is the guitar so I'm kinda clueless.ok thanks sam I got it working now all the things online said don't use too much but thats for one thats already been rosined I just found out that they need a bit the first time.sorry I called you sam instead of saw lol

Older violin or new violin?
My parents are getting my another violin because I'm going to college soon and it's time for a step up. I am trying out two different violins One is over 50 years old and has a beautiful tone and the other is brand new with a dark, rich tone. I cannot decide between the two Help

Where are some good places to look for new violins?
and what qualities should I look for?please answer asap because i'm going in a few hours

How do I rosin a new violin bow?
I've done about 30 up and down strokes with the rosin, and the bow is hardly making a sound, any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

Why does my new violin go out of tune instantly?
I've just bought a violin, I've never played one before but play other instruments. I've just spent an hour trying to tune the thing but as soon as I tune one string the previous one is at least a semitone out. I know you're meant to tune them often but surely they should stay in tune for more than a second? I've nearly thrown it through the window already

I need to get a new violin, does anyone have any brand/etc.recommendations?
I've been playing violin for some years now on a small, 3 4 size Corelli.Through the past year or two, my teachers have been telling me to get a new, full sized violin and my mom didn't really take action on that until now.I'm not sure which brand to get though. Our price range probably will vary, but we don't want to buy a violin that gets too expensive $500.00 because my mom doesn t have that much money. I was wondering if anyone had any sort of recommendation on brand, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated Thank you Haha thanks I was thinking about getting a Yamaha they're in my price range and apparently great quality , but I wanted a second opinion. Thanks

How am I supposed to get a sound out of a brand new violin?
Just this week I bought a Gliga III violin, I've never played violin before and though my experience with a variety of other instruments would have left me with enough intuition to teach myself, turns out i was pretty wrong. I can't get a single sound out of it.I have no idea how to set it up though the bridge is already on, so I don't need to worry about that atleast and have a few questions about setting it up How taut tight should the strings be? I will tune them to a piano, I just don't know how tight I should get them or how tight I can safely get them. How do I use the tuning mechanisms on a violin? It has large ivory tuning pegs like a guitar, and smaller ones on the piece below the bridge that I cannot really feel doing anything when I turn them. How tight should my bow be?With those questions aside, if it isn't one of those factors that is causing me to be unable to get a single sound out of my violin then I would love to know what is.Many thanks in advance, all help is greatly appreciated.

Buying a New Violin ...?
Hey there I've been playing the violin for 8 years, and have decided that I should invest in a better instrument. The one I have now cost me about 500AUD 450USD and I don't believe that its quality is quite meeting my playing standards. My parents don't believe that I need a new violin, but I'm more than happy to save up and pay for it myself.I just need your opinions on how much a decent violin would cost, and how much I should spend.I'm 16, by the way, and am not planning on giving up on music anytime soon. Thanks

How do I tune my new Violin?
Hello, I just purchase a new violin and I do not know how to tune it. Any advice?
