New viola shoulder rest- help please!?!?!?
Hello I just bought a new viola, and I got a center mounted chin rest with it. However, the new viola is not as thick and bulky as my previous instrument, and the set up is completely different, so I'm in desperate need of a new shoulder rest. It needs to be really tall because I have a long neck and slanted shoulders. I've previously tried the Kun Super, Wolf Forte, and Bonmusica with the Kun Super being the more successful, but not quite as comfortable as i'd like at least not high enough . Are there any models you'd recommend? Thanks in advance for your help Sydney
Can i use a viola shoulder rest on my violin?
Hello, ive only been learning violin for around a week,the nearest music shop is quite a drive away so i ordered a shoulder rest online, in my rush ive brought a viola rest. Doh its a wolf forte secondo viola rest its fully adjustable, ive fitted it to my violin and its really comfertable, my playing improved instantly i think i was holding the neck to tight before to support violin my question is whats the differance between the two, i plan on having lessons in a month or so, so will i need to change it before then to avoid getting laughed at or is it acceptable to use?many thankssteve

i have a 12 inch viola I'm only 12 when i go to music stores and see viola shoulder rests i notice that they don't have sizes like violin ones do i have just been using a violin shoulder rest for 3 years
