What kind of violin bow and string should I buy?
I am currently taking violin classes, and I am in 4 grade. I need a new bow and new strings. My violin is a Stentor Student 2 4 4. And I'd like to know what kind fiberglass, carbon fiber, etc of bow would be more appropriate for a student of my level. I know that the strength of the carbon fiber is higher that the fiberglass, but I am still not sure what kind of bow I should get... Please help me. And if they are a kind of string that is very good, please let me know.
Can anyone recommend a good violin bow?
Hello I ve just recently started to take violin lessons and my teacher has strongly recommended that I consider investing in a new bow since, according to him, the one that came with my violin is terrible. I m not looking to spend a fortune since I m just starting out, but I do want a bow that is high quality. I also need a bow that is as light as possible since I have weakness in my hands due to cerebral palsy. Does anyone have any recommendations with links if possible ? On a side note, can anyone offer any tips on volume control? No matter how much I adjust the pressure I m putting on my current bow, the sound always comes out almost unbearably loud... Im pretty sure im playing it right,but it sounds like an animal getting its teeth ripped out when I play slow. When I play fast, however it sounds fine. Do the strings really have that much of an effect on the sound? Im using the right amount of rosin

New violin bow hair came out and I don't know what to do?
I was applying a lot rosin to a new violin bow like you're supposed to but all of a sudden one of the hairs came out from the top so it's just dangling and I can't put it back. Is this something I should seriously take notice of or is it because the hair wasn't placed well enough in the beginning? Note that I am an inexperienced player.

So I just got a violin, and have had my first lesson. Now when I went into my lesson, my instructor mentioned something about my bow being funny. We ended up using his bow because we didn't want to waste time scratching my fresh rosin and applying it. Now at home, I'm noticing how curved the stick is... It seems no matter how loose or tight the hair is, it is always touching the stick... I'm noticing from pictures of other bows that they aren't quite as curved as mine isThe hair is tightening, I can visually see it tightening.
