Can a bad violin rosin ruin a good violin synthetic string?

Is violin rosin allowed on planes?
More specifically, US planes...but if you do put them with your luggage, would the temperature change render it useless?

Any good violin rosin?
My violin has a pretty good sound, buy the rosin i have which came with the violin makes it sound bad. does anyone know of a good rosin that will make my violin have a rich, smooth tone?

Why is violin rosin in bits and pieces?
Why do I see violin cases with little bits of broken and smashed looking rosin pieces in them? The piece I have looks like a smooth round shiny cake of amber, so why does it look like somebody through these rosin bits on the floor and smashed them?

Which is the best violin rosin for pirastro tonica(violin)strings?

What is a violin rosin made of?

Difference between light and dark violin rosin?

Where can i get violin rosin?
im going to be getting a violin for my 14th birthday for the first time...and i just found out about violin rosin. can you get it at walmart? or anywhere like that? b cuz theres no music stores anywhere close to me....oh and i have a couple other questions to ask too...im getting a violin that origianally retailed at 550 i think is that a pretty decent violin? and is 14 a good age to start...because i heard your suppose to start younge....and how long does the rosin last?

Is there such thing as crushed violin rosin?
so, my sister and i just got violins and we arent completely sure how to use the rosin..hers is dark and mine is light. im not sure if this makes a difference. so i was wondering if there was such a thing as crushed rosin because ours doesnt seem to be working..or maybe we just arent doing it right.help?

Which of these violin rosins should i get?
Hi, i'm going to begin learning violin again, and i need a good type of violin rosin. I stopped because the rosin i had was sticky and dusty cello rosin and i stopped because i didn't want to mess up my violin or my bow. I did a little bit of research as to what type of rosin i should get, and i've narrowed it down to a few. I don't see it mattering too much, but i live in Texas so the climate would be considered more of a dry environment, but since my violin won't be leaving my room much, idk if climate would actually pose a problem or not. I know that lighter rosin would probably be considered better for violin, so i'm still a little bit torn as to which rosin i should get.So what do you recommend? I'm thinking of getting the jade rosin, but i've also found interest in the pirastro rosin. Also, could someone explain the difference between the different pirastro rosins? because i've been looking all over the internet and i can't find any specific details for each rosin. Finally, if you have any other recommendations as to which rosin i should get, that would be great. thank you for everything

I heard that making use of old violin rosins would lead to a bad tone is that true?

Best brand for violin rosin?

Violin rosin! what do you think of the (supersensitive) old oak rosin...?
so I'm i think a level one player... been studying violin playing for 6 months now... i know its slow, kinda hard sched for me... lessons are once a week and i only practice at night. Im looking for a new violin rosin, I just bought a new bow sander, for students and I was thinking of choosing between this supersensitive.com rosin.html and this jiajie.com En Product 03 pro.asp?EnBigClassName Musical %20Accessories& EnSmallClassName Rosin brands because this are the only available in the nearest music store. I think I want the old oak from supersensitive and the lertom from sheep. But I was thinking which will best suit my new bow.... its sander i bought in yamaha ... I though that I liked the dark rosin, but i realized it was too sticky for me, or maybe just because i bought the really cheap ones supersensitive.com images rosins redlabelrosin.gif its grainy and sticks in my strings... so maybe i would go for the lighter summer rosin this time.Im very confuse which to buy next. I hope someone could help me...thanks

Violin Rosin for Vancouver?
I was wondering if light or dark violin rosin is better for the Vancouver area. I'm debating between the Jade rosin and Bernardel right now, and I use Pirastro Passione strings, which are wound gut. Which rosin would you recommend?I know Vancouver is rather cool, suggesting dark rosin, but I thought it was humid as well. Is it humid enough to use light rosin, or should I get dark?
