Music for a trio for violin viola and bass?
Theres a violin, viola , and bass who can play cello music if necessary. We are all pretty good musicians and have been playing for 7ish years. Does anyone know of a cool trio that we can play for competition?
Good violin/viola duet pieces?
I was wondering if anyone knew any good duets for a violin and viola. They don't have to be too difficult, but don't shy away from recommending a hard piece as it should be ok. If you have any sheet music for it, that would be great too. Thanks PS This is in the classical section but don't feel the piece has to be classical.
Which violin/viola parts are interchangable?
I play viola, and I just bought a salvaged violin from the local shop. I will be using the wood for art projects, but it was complete with pegs, bridge, tailpiece, fine tuners, and everything else except strings. The soundpost is intact. My question is which, if any, of these parts are ambiguous between violin and viola 15'' viola, 4 4 violin that I might use as spares?Thank you

What is a baroque period violin/viola?
I know they were a little lower in pitch and had no chin rest and gut strings, but did they have the shoulder pad thing? If not, how does it stay up? Or do baroque pieces just not require as much virtuosity and so the fingerboard can be held up by the fingering hand?
